At the beginning of the 1960s, Jean Peytel, member of the Cercle de la voile de Paris suggested reviving the CVP International Cup with the RORC rating rule of 22 feet. KNAVE OF HEARTS was built in 1936 by the well respected Thames based company of Kris Craft of Isleworth. Unfortunately not a great deal is known about her early history although KNAVE OF HEARTS until recently was a familiar sight on the River Thames. Her former owner was a founding member of the Thames Vintage Boat Club and KNAVE OF HEARTS is listed as boat number 2 on their register. In previous ownership KNAVE OF HEARTS attended countless boat rallies on the River Thames and was a prize winner at the Henley Traditional Boat Rally.

The Fairey Duckling, produced during the 1950s & 60s by Fairey Marine in Hamble is a iconic design by the legendary naval architect Uffa Fox. The Duckling dinghy was essentially a sailing or rowing tender produced by the hot moulded method of double diagonal laminates of glued Agba. WINDCHASER was designed by the well known and respected naval architect S Van De Meer, who along with Willem De Vries Lench produced a series of yacht designs between 1963 and 1967 for Jachtwerf Jongert. The world famous Jongert Shipyard was established in 1953 in the Netherlands and is noted for their workmanship and quality finish.

Built in 1922 in St Ives by P P Landers and launched in May of that year as a fishing vessel, BEN MY CHREE (Manx for Girl of My Heart) registered number SS139 for Richard Boase. Fished out of St Ives until the late 1930s then sold in to private ownership to Bernard Wilkinson of Keward House, Hampshire. Converted to a private, twin screw motor yacht and registered as SUNGEI. SHAMEEN designed and built by the highly respected Cheoy Lee Shipyard in Hong Kong in 1958. Shortly after being commissioned, she was sailed to Singapore before, in 1960 coming to Poole in Dorset in the ownership of R Y Frost of Canford Cliffs. In 1963 W G C Williams of Hayle in Cornwall purchased SHAMEEN keeping her in St Ives Harbour. A H Dallimore became the next registered owner moving the vessel to St Martin’s on the Isles of Scilly in 1970 and then to Oban in 1978 when he moved to Scotland.
