Concluding Analysis:
Considering her age moonchild proves to be in good condition. Hull and Deck show no lack of integrity.
A reliable constructed steel yacht, proven powerful in cruising Scandinavian and British Isles waters, designed for comfort and durability whilst sailing.
The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used for negotiating the price asked. It is strongly advised that for your safety when purchasing this yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on secondhand gear.

The cabin is one of the main quality attributes to this comfortable cruising ship. Particularly, the standing height of 7 foot in the navigation/cooking area is a big plus. Accordingly, the lengths of the bunks serve the needs of tall people. In the main cabin, two side windows and two opening hatches (one above the cooker) offer various opportiunities to ventilate the living quarters. Additional, the large hatch above the front double bunk provide ample light, ventilation, and - not to forget - a perfect (safety) exit.
The thick insulation from ceiling to waterline add a cosyness to the carefully chosen colors of the cabins high quality finish. Clever ideas (like a raised pilot berth for a wider mattress) make this space a haven for the high latitudes the „moonchild“ had had its home for many years. (A small diesel stove can be fitted next to the sink - a copper pipe to the diesel tank in the cockpit hatch is installed.)
See more details on the general description above.
Although not over-equipped the „moonchild“ comes with a lot of additional euipment. First of all, adding to the comfort of the living quarters the cockpit can be fully covered with the BOSSE canvas.
In terms of safety, the wide and deep cockpit, the body rests next to mast and a lot of sturdy other stainless steel deck eyes, pulpits, stanchions etcetera add a feel-good quality to the imagination of long distance cruising.
See full list of equipment in the general description above.
The navigation equipment is confined to the basics to minimize the temptation to overuse the batteries (120 + 154 Ah). It is consisting of VHF Radio, AIS receiver, VDO Plotter, MÖRER-Navtex-Receiver and the B&G Network display (with NEXUS display in the cockpit). The original boats' compass in the cockpit needs recalibration.
The navigational lights have been renewed in 2024.

3 blade fixed propeller
water lubricated stern-tube seal

The rigging and sails provided offer plenty of different set-ups for various wind- and weather conditions. Again, focus is put on safety and comfort. Mast climbing steps are adding to both workability and pleasure.
The SELDÉN Mast and standing rigg are just nine years old and seldomly used. The cutter stay is removable as are the back stays.
