Description

"Glen Iris" is one of the popular Glen Racing Class yachts.

Designed by Alfred Mylne and built in the Glen Boatyard in Stricklands Glen, Bangor in 1953.

The Glen Class originally raced out of Ballyholme Yacht Club for a number of years.

They then split up and now there are 2 active fleets club racing in Ireland both in Strangford Lough and Dublin Bay.

Strangford Lough Yacht Club is where "Glen Iris" races from and there is a competitive fleet of 15 yachts who take part in Club Racing and regattas around the different clubs in Strangford Lough.

This is a golden opportunity to get involved and have a bit of craic club racing.

"Glen Iris" needs little done to prepare her as usual for the coming season.
