ROCHFORD Essex UK|
Boat for restoration.
Six of Hearts was built in 1947 by Hearts Cruisers of Stallam on the norfolk broads. Originally built for holiday rental she has a lovely classic look about her. I purchased her in 2010 and have had some lovely weekends and holidays on her over the years but circumstances have changed and she is now beginning to deteriate and I dont have the time to keep up the work required on a classic wooden boat.
She is 32 feet long by 9 feet wide, a 4 berth with a twin in the bow and a seating area in the main cabin that folds down to a small double.
In the kitchen their is a gas cooker and hot running water, 2 x13kg calor gas bottles in the gas locker.
Heating is by log burner and the wheel house doubles as a dining area, the roof is on runners for open cruising and dining.
There is also a separate shower room with sink and chemical toilet.
The engine is the original Coventry Victor twin flat diesel electric start which runs however the gearbox is stuck in forward drive and requires replacing or fixing, these engines themselves are becoming collectors items and fetching good money.
The Hull has a couple of boards that need a bit of work which is normal on a wooden hull and needs someone with the time and skill to bring this boat back to sailing condition, again when done right this would be a good investment.
The boat as described needs work and is being sold as a restoration project. I have included photos of what she looked like 10 years ago when I had her on the river as well as what she looks like now
She is on hard standing in Rochford, Essex which costs £300 a quarter, fees are paid till the end of Sep 2021
Elecric metered supply is on hand as well as water, continued storage is to be arranged with the boat yard, if the boat is to be moved the yard have a sling for lifting onto transport.
She needs work however she is not a lost cause, my circumstances have changed and fixing the gearbox is too big a job for me. This boat needs someone to bring her back and enjoy her as much as I have, I had some great trips and met some great admirers on the canal, viewing essential before you buy and please serious people only, no time wasters or dreamers, come on make me an offer and be the new owner of a classic head Turner.
