I have been running commercial boat trips at weekends and during the holidays on a 7-acre dam owned by English Heritage since 2016. Unfortunately, the dam has been drained for long term repairs to the dam wall. As I don’t have another site to operate from, I have decided to sell the launch along with all the associated equipment; hopefully to someone who can enjoy this boat as much as I have over the years. I can provide assistance with the setup on a new site (if you want to use her as a tour boat), including all the relevant risk assessments etc. Any property / park which is open to the public, that has a lake, is a potential venue.

Aside from the public liability insurance at around £350pa, there are very few costs. I also operated as a sole trader to keep things simple. Over a busy weekend I could clear over £400. A summer season will net around £8,000, depending on the weather! Charging the batteries is a few pounds per month. The batteries come in 15kg packs to allow charging at home (48V, gel lead-acid). Each pack lasts around 2 hours when cruising; I have three. The outboard has a 1800W brushless electric motor. The launch is set up to carry 8 passengers and does so easily. The hull has a hinged centreboard which allows the launch to operate in very shallow water; around 20cm. Being constructed of aluminium she is very light. Included in the sale is a Brian James flatbed trailer and launching system. This allows the boat to be put in, and retrieved from, lakes with no slipway. Also included is a floating jetty and plenty of operational accessories; life jackets etc.
