The Broom Ocean 40 is one of Brooms rare flybridge models, incorporating both the amenity of an aft cabin with the raised steering position of a flybridge and the open aft deck. The Ocean 40 is a very solid, well built boat equally at home on the inland waterways or at sea. The folding radar arch allows the boat to cruise the inland waterways with ease.
The Volvo engines enable the hull to reach a max speed of 22 knots but cruise comfortably at 15 – 16 knots. The TAMD61As were the preferred engine size as opposed to the smaller Sabres often found in similar Brooms of the time.
